About Recall Radar
Recall Radar is run by a freight guy with about 30 years in the business, a Marine Corps veteran, and a former Yellow driver. After a lot of miles, one thing stuck: recall notices are written for lawyers, not for the people driving the equipment.
This site does one simple job. Each week it pulls new recalls for heavy trucks, trailers and truck equipment from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and lays them out in plain words: what's wrong, why it matters, and what the fix is.
How it works
- Every recall comes from NHTSA's public recall data. Nothing is made up or guessed.
- Each entry shows the NHTSA campaign number and links to the official NHTSA page.
- The short summaries are trimmed from NHTSA's own wording. If anything here differs from NHTSA, NHTSA is right.
- We cover Freightliner, Western Star, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo Trucks, Mack, International, Hino, Isuzu, major trailer makers, and truck bodies and equipment when they show up in the data.
This isn't legal or mechanical advice. Run your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls and talk to your dealer.
